Our client is a growing medical device manufacturer in the Greater Boulder area who is expanding their R&D groups and looking for a Principal Engineer to join one of their dynamic and collaborative product development groups. This position will report to the R&D Manager and focus on battery technology and product development including concept generation, protocol design, feasibility testing and verification of mono- and bipolar medical device power sources. This position’s primary responsibility will be to provide technical design leadership and strategic direction throughout the entire product development cycle.

REQUIRED: BSEE (or related field if meet ALL other qualifications), 8+ years of R&D Engineering experience through the entire product development cycle including a clear, dominate focus on analog electronics with specialization including power supply and battery interface design. Deep understanding and career expertise within battery cell technology and chemistry including previous experience negotiating with battery vendors. Collaborative, high-energy, positive attitude and ability to lead a team with the highest standards of technical expertise without being a “prima donna.”

Highly Desitred: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field); ambition and pursuit of professional development; strong record keeping skills, previous experience with medical device development i.e. cardiac implantables or similar low-power devices and vendor/supplier development.
