Technology Development Manager R&D
Energy Sources; Medical Devices
Our client is a growing medical device manufacturer in the Greater Boulder area who has created a new R&D group to drive the Technology Development aspect of the energy sources for their 2 major product lines. They are looking for an R&D Manager, reporting to the R&D Director of Energy Sources to lead a team of 7-1e0 ngineers with a focus on technical understanding, advancement and application. The successful candidate will have a history of focus on new and emerging technologies– NOT PRODUCTS. This position’s primary responsibility will be to provide creative direction toward discovering, understanding and applying new technology, so an emphasis will be placed on the candidate’s ability to work with Business Development, sourcing and reaching out to academia, technology leaders and start-ups to develop emerging technologies to be utilized for their product development teams.
REQUIRED: Required: MSEE (or related field if meet ALL other qualifications), 7+ years of R&D Engineering experience with a clear, dominate focus on transitioning new technology into complex devices throughout the development process including electromechanical, software and firmware components with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role. Specific experience should also include strong, broad system level understanding including , etc. Analytical, enthusiastic personality comfortable working with others in a creatively passionate environment; motivated by the understanding and application of new concepts rather than project completion.
Highly Desired: MEDICAL DEVICE background; Experience working with other companies and outside sources to develop technology; ambition and pursuit of professional development; strong record keeping skills; comfortable presenting technical concepts, achieving buy-in and directing others towards the application of those concepts.
